The Museum has on display over fifty Buddha and Bodhisattva sculptures in a variety of mediums depicting the various mudras. This exhibit can located on our main floor.

Buddhism

Originated in India between 5 - 6th century B.C.E founded by Siddhārtha Gautama, later known as Buddha after reaching enlightenment.

Buddhism focuses on achieving enlightenment/nirvana, through one's actions, meditation, mindfulness and labor in order to break the cycle of suffering in each life.

What is a Mudra?

It is a pose of the hands or body.

That is a spiritual signal representing an important act or calling.
